Sections of the Group
|The Beaver Colony is for boys and girls aged 6 to 8 years old. The Beaver motto is "Fun and Friends", which describes their aims. Swimming instruction forms a part of the programme, as they prepare to be able to swim 50m by the time they are 10½.
|The Cub Pack is for boys and girls aged 8 to 10½. They follow a more structured programme, working towards proficiency badges, and they have the opportunity to sample river and camping activities as they get older.
|The Scout Troop is for boys and girls aged 10½ to 14½. As well as the normal Scout training programme, including outdoor activities and camping, they become proficient in canoeing, rowing, sailing and all areas of seamanship.
|The Explorer Scout Unit is for young people aged 14½ to 18. They are self-motivating and governing, carrying out an adventurous programme under the guidance of their adult leaders. They also pass on their knowledge and skills, assisting with other sections in the Group.
